Zambia, Southern Africa's best kept secret, features a great diversity of habitat, scenery and wildlife. We can expect a wildlife experience that is difficult to duplicate elsewhere in the world. With its large elephant, hippo, lion and leopard population,, we will experience the magic and sheer visual splendor of the heart of Africa. Of all the animals on the African continent, the leopard can be one of the most elusive and magnificent creatures to capture on film. Their solitary ways, unpredictable habits and superb camouflage, make it a challenge to spot this beautiful cat. The Focus on Leopards safari takes you to the "hot spot" of leopard sightings, the remote Luangwa Valley in Zambia. This area is also a good part of Africa to see the endangered Wild Dog.
Accommodation will be a deluxe lodge and with two nights in a bushcamp.

Johannesburg - Lusaka - South Luangwa National Park
We fly from Johannesburg to Lusaka today, the capital city of Zambia. Upon arrival, we transfer to our charter flight to the South Luangwa Valley. Here the opportunity exists to take night drives in search of nocturnal creatures, especially the elusive leopard which is often found. The Luangwa Valley has been called the "Last Kingdom of the Elephants" and indeed one of the most memorable sights is of elephants venturing across the river, sometimes in groups of over 100 strong.
We depart after breakfast on a morning game drive ending at a bushcamp where we spend two nights. The focus on this part of our safari will be flora and the smaller animals on nature walks. Walking safaris from the Kapamba are exceptional with numerous trails following the course of the river.
